November 5, 2024 - General Election

All elections in Fremont Township are held at the following location:

Fremont Township Hall 
5980 South Hemlock Road
Hemlock, MI  48626. 

To qualify to vote you must be a citizen of the United States, reside in the township for 30 days prior to the election date, and be 18 years of age by the day of the election.  Please bring a PICTURE ID with you to the precinct on Election Day.  It is the responsibility of all residents, especially if you have never voted in Fremont Township,
to make sure you are registered before an election.

Absentee Ballots

Absentee Ballots may be obtained by contacting the Fremont Township Clerk.  If you would like to Request and Track the Status of your Absentee Ballot online please visit the Michigan Voter Information Center.

Absentee Ballots may be Returned to the Clerk, used to vote at the Early Vote Center, or used to vote at the Township Hall on Election Day.

 If returning ballots to the Clerk for processing by election workers on election day they should be placed in the secrecy sleeve, and enclosed in the Purple Envelope provided with the ballot. Make Sure to signed the Purple Envelope!

Early Voting

DAYS
Early voting is open nine consecutive days beginning on the second Saturday before each election and
ending on the Sunday before the election

TIME
Early voting is open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. except on the Wednesday before the election from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Absentee Ballot Application & Permanent Absent Voter Ballot List

As of 2018, all registered voters in Michigan may request an Absentee Ballot for individual elections without providing a reason. In November 2022, Michigan voters passed Proposal 22-2 and gave themselves the right to join a Permanent Absent Voter Ballot List. Joining the permanent ballot list allows voters to complete an application once and automatically receive an absentee ballot for all elections moving forward. If a registered voter moves within the State of Michigan and updates their voter registration address, the status on the Permanent Absent Voter Ballot List remains and passes to the new address. 

Voters may request an absentee ballot for any individual election(s) without joining the Permanent Absent Voter Ballot List by contacting their local Clerk or by completing the application online at the Michigan Voter Information Center.

November 5th Election Deadlines

Election Deadlines are Published by the Michigan Secretary of State.  Some important deadlines are listed below.

Sept. 21, 2024:  Begin sending Overseas and Military Ballots

Sept. 21, 2024:  Ballots and elections supplies delivered to the Township Clerk.   Absent Voter Ballot Issue begins after voting equipment Preliminary Accuracy Test.  

Sept. 26, 2024: Absent Voter Drop Box becomes available 24 hours/day until 8pm on Election Day.

Oct. 7, 2024:  Notice of Voter Registration published by the County  Clerk in the Saginaw News, local hours for weekend prior to the election published by Clerk in Qualified Voter File.

Oct. 15, 2024:  Deadline to appoint Election workers (called "inspectors") by the Fremont Township Election Commission.

Oct. 21, 2024:  Last day to REGISTER to vote in any manner OTHER THAN IN PERSON with the township clerk for the Election.

Oct. 21, 2024:  Deadline for Public Accuracy Test.  Notice of Public Accuracy Test published by County Clerk in the Saginaw News at least 48 hours before test.

Oct. 22, 2024 through Election Day:  REGISTER IN PERSON with the township clerk with proof of residency*.

* proof can be Driver's License, Personal ID, copy  of paycheck stub, utility bill, bank statement, or a government document which lists your name and address

Oct. 25, 2024: Write-in candidates; Declaration of Intent form due to respective filing official.

Up to 5:00 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25:  voters may submit written request to spoil their returned Absent Voter ballot and receive a new Absent Voter Ballot in the Clerk's Office

Oct. 26 - Nov. 3, 2024Nine Days of Early voting at
Saginaw County Early Vote Center, located at the Saginaw County Governmental Center Complex, 618 Cass St, Saginaw, MI 48602 

Oct. 29, 2024Notice of Election published by the County Clerk in Saginaw News.

Up to 5:00 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1:  voters may cure signature  or request an Absent Voter Ballot via First Class mail.   

Up to 4:00 p.m., Monday, Nov. 4: Electors who have lost their absent voter ballot, not yet received their ballot in the mail, or not yet returned their ballot may submit a written request in person to spoil their absent voter ballot and receive new Ballot in the Clerk’s Office. 

Up to 4:00 p.m. Monday, Nov. 4:  voters may appear in person at the Clerk's Office to register and/or request an Absent Voter Ballot.

Up to 4:00 p.m. Tuesday,  Nov. 5:  EMERGENCY Absent Voter Ballots may be obtained from the Township Clerk.

7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.  Nov. 5, 2024:  Election Day!   Citizens who have not already submitted an Absent Voter Ballot or cast a vote in person at the early voting center may vote in person at the Fremont Township Hall.
